At Academy Salons, we think it’s important for customers to have a great relationship with their stylist – after all, who doesn’t love a good old natter while having their hair trimmed, styled or coloured? Our Getting to Know… blogs are the perfect way to “meet” your stylist prior to your appointment, giving you plenty to chat about when the time comes.
This month, we hear from Christine Madigan, the manager of our Claygate salon. Christine tells us what she enjoys most about working for Academy Salons, offers her hair advice for the winter, and reveals whose hair she’d love to have.
Name: Christine Madigan
Salon: Claygate
Position: Manager
Service: Hair
Working at Academy Salons since: 23.04.15
Specialisms: Restyle, Colouring, Extensions, Blow-Dry
I love working at Academy salons as it’s like working with family. Salv’s passion and drive to push and make people reach their goals is amazing.
I am a bit of an all rounder but love the challenge of a restyle especially when the seasons change – people love to have a change when there is a change in the weather.
This time of year, your hair will be more static. To help combat this, I’d advise using a leave-in conditioner like Kerastase Discipline Thermique and a dry shampoo to fluff up limp hair.
I am absolutely loving the full fringe and choppy layers with a blunt mid-length and lots of textures.
I love Sophia Hilton – her passion and drive as a parent is a real inspiration, Education is a key part of her business, and I believe you never stop learning no matter how old you are. Trends and styles are alway changing.
I am loving the copper red hair with dark golden undertones – it brings lots of depth and warmth to really put a bit of colour on your complexion.
I would love hair like Alexa Chung, the British writer, model and fashion designer. The full-fringed lob just looks amazing when styled with tussled waves.
