With over 30 years of experience in the Hair & Beauty industry, my passion for creative and innovative hairdressing is as vibrant as ever. Beginning my career as an apprentice, I have risen to the role of Company Director at Academy Salons UK, steering the company to new heights.

In 2023, I was honored with the prestigious Director of the Year award at the HJ British Hairdressing Business Awards, a testament to my unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership in the industry.

At Academy Salons, I oversee the dynamic operations of five bustling salons and lead a dedicated team of over 70 professionals. By employing proven management techniques, I inspire and motivate my team, driving their personal and professional growth.

My unwavering commitment to education and lifelong learning led to the creation of Academy Education. This program offers weekly in-house training sessions for our trainees and masterclasses for all skill levels. My vision is to evolve Academy Education into a comprehensive training school, further solidifying our commitment to excellence in the near future

I started my career at Academy Salons, Hersham, working through my NVQ levels 1,2 & 3 gaining valuable experience within the industry along the way.
From that I then went on to have my own salon where I mentored and educated my team for over 16 years.
Following this I rejoined Academy where I  managed the Claygate salon in which Salv mentored me into becoming his right hand women.
My role currently is General Manager for the company where I am growing the brand and mentoring members of the team to reach their goals & aspirations, and getting them, and the salon to reach the next level.

I first started at Academy when I was 13 years old as a Saturday girl, I then became an assistant and worked my way up Front of House leader which was a role I loved.
In 2020 I was promoted to Executive Assistant, my role working along side Salv was exciting and opened lots of opportunities.
I’m now extremely happy in my role as Retail Manager

With 32 years in corporate management in my key role as Head of HR and Administration at Academy Salons, I am committed to the welfare of over 70 employees, bridging the gap between employers and employees. With a team-driven approach and strong communication skills, I foster a balanced work environment. I am structured, empathetic, and an experienced problem solver, always ready to address any issues that may arise. With a measured administrative style and a sympathetic attitude, I can make quick decisions with integrity and patience. My approachable authority, leadership skills, and social responsibility drive me to always act in the best interest of the company and its employees.

I am proud to be a part of the Academy Salons team, where I strive to create a positive and supportive work culture for all.

My journey in hairdressing began immediately after leaving school, where I earned my NVQ in Hairdressing. With a strong belief in the importance of education, I have continuously developed my skills over the past 27 years, completing advanced courses in cutting techniques and L’Oréal color mastery. I have also become a specialist in hair extensions, further enhancing my expertise in the industry.

Over 20 years ago, I started my career with Academy Salons. After gaining valuable experience elsewhere, I returned nearly six years ago with a deep commitment to excellence. Through dedication and a relentless pursuit of growth, I advanced from Salon Consultant to Salon Principal, and I am now proud to serve as the Salon Manager of our Claygate location.

I am fortunate to receive mentorship from our Director, Salv, who is instrumental in my development as a leader. My focus is on being the best manager possible, ensuring that my team receives the support and guidance they need to achieve their full potential.

With over 10 years of experience in retail management, I have developed an exceptional level of customer service expertise, which I’ve successfully brought to Academy Salons. My commitment is to ensure that every client receives the highest standard of care and service.

I joined the Academy family five years ago as the Front of House at our Claygate salon. Since then, I’ve advanced to the role of Team Leader, working closely with my Salon Manager. Together, we strive to inspire our team to consistently deliver a five-star experience, ensuring that every client leaves our salon feeling truly exceptional.

One of the aspects I love most about my role is managing our salon’s social media presence. It allows me to creatively showcase our team’s work and engage with our community in a meaningful way. Whether it’s helping clients select the perfect hair products, organizing team events, or capturing and sharing the incredible work of our creative team, I thrive in the dynamic and positive environment we’ve cultivated. Being part of such a supportive and fun team has been instrumental in my professional growth.

Becoming a hairdresser has always been a dream and passion of mine, I got my first taste for it working as a shampooist in a salon from the age of 13. After leaving school I started an Apprenticeship, training with the Academy and Kingston College.

Once completing my NVQ level 2 and 3, I started working at Academy Salons, working my way up to Salon Manager and learning every step of the way. I’ve been here for 19 years now and have been a manager for the last 16 years. Nothing makes me happier than seeing how happy our clients are leaving the salon after their appointments and I’m proud to be part of their journey looking after the team that looks after them whilst also getting to work on my skills on clients too.

I started with Academy Salons when I was 17 as an apprentice and completed my hairdressing NVQ level 1, 2 and 3 at the Academy Education training school. I loved the training process and wanted to become more involved, so I achieved my qualification as an Assessor. I’m also a member of the Artistic Team, which offers me the opportunity to expand my creative skills, working on photoshoots, presentations and fashion shows.

In 2015, I was appointed Manager of the Esher salon, and in January 2017, completed a course with Balmain to become a Balmain Educator for the South East, training and advising other salons and stylists in the art of hair extensions.

When I first started Academy salons almost 7 years ago I never thought I’d be where I am now! I am excited to say I have been promoted to Team Leader and cannot wait to help all of my team achieve their goals and my own.

I have watched the salon grow year on year and I’m excited for 2023 and the awards we have entered into for the year coming. I also love seeing all of our wonderful clients and helping them get their appointments booked in and make them feel welcome when they are in the salon. Nothing makes me happier than going above and beyond for the unlimited salon experience and seeing how happy our clients are when they visit our salons.

I believe hairdressing is a passion not just a job, after nearly 20 years in hairdressing starting as a Saturday girl learning the job and working up to Salon Manager I still get excited when clients sit in my chair existing or new. I love that every head of hair and person is different, finding ways to make clients hair work for them, fit in with their lives but most importantly making them feel amazing.

Throughout the last 27 years of my hairdressing career I could be best described as loyal, committed and clearly passionate about hairdressing.
I believe that quality and the upmost care is the most important things that my clients can expect to receive from me and I strive to ensure I continually offer that high level of service to all my clients and the clients visiting our salons.
I’m proud to say that I’m super excited to be promoted to Creative Director at Academy Salons and can’t wait to share my creative knowledge and mentor our Apprentices and Graduates to success!

I joined the Academy Salons team in 2005 and together with Salv set up Academy Beauty Salons. Over the last 16 years, we’ve grown the beauty team from 2 therapists to a fantastic team of 8.
